Designing Community - A Permaculturist's View of Nature and Economy

Permaculture is a design system that looks to natural ecology for templates, which are adapted and used to develop environments within which humans are able to live well. Seeking within nature for models on which to base designs for farms and gardenssounds like good common sense, but the search becomes even more rewarding when we begin to use these models as aids in the formation of financial and organizational structures. Permaculture is about caring for the land, but aims as well to care for the people who sustain and are sustained by that land.
