As we were preparing our speech to give at the conference, it became clear that there is an inherent relationship between quality and the concept of the biodynamic farm organism. Therefore, we began looking at the history and growth of our biodynamicfarm. At the same time, a comment by Henry Barnes (one of the founders of the Hawthorne Valley Farm initiative) also encouraged us: he brought to light the fact that we will enter our thirty-third year of existence in 2005. This time period seems significant enough so that rt is appropriate to pause, take stock, reevaluate our mission, and move forward into the second generational cycle of the organization.
