I may have lost my marbles using three cliches in the title of this month's column.Hopefully,CropLife? magazine's editors,who are wise as owls,will forgive me,but some of our cliches are in danger of becoming obsolete.While Microsoft,SAP,and Symantec have been keeping their nose to the grindstone writing software,I'm proud as a peacock to tell you that the Open Source Initiative(OSI)is throwing its hat in the ring and has a deal that is short and sweet.For those penny pinchers among us,free software is pretty as a picture - after all,money doesn't grow on trees.
