摘要

AbstractPresent article reports the partial molar volumes (V2,Φo) and compressibilities (κS, 2,Φ0) calculated from measured ultrasonic velocity (u) and density (ρ) data of antidiabetic drug metformin hydrochloride + {aqueous-cosolutes (NaCl/sucrose)} solutions at 30°C. The isentropic compressibilities (κs) and other acoustic parameters were calculated and discussed. In addition to this, the refractive indices (n) and relative viscosities (ηr) along with Jones-Dole parameters have been measured and reported. Results have been discussed in terms of effect of cosolutes NaCl/sucrose on electrostriction and hydration behavior of the drug.Highlights?Partial molar volumes and compressibilities of metformin hydrochloride are evaluated.
