Widening the lens on intellectual disabilities: an emerging focus on genetics, the lifespan and evidence-based practice

Many of us are deeply immersed in our own research topics and in the substantive issues of our own area of interest. Perhaps it is time to come up for air: to take a broader look at the landscape of intellectual disabilities. This particular issue of Current Opinion in Psychiatry does just that, and contains a number of papers that used a much wider lens with which to examine recent research.
