The large-scale expansion of coated steel capacities in Russia during the recent years has turned it from a tight andimport-dependent market into a highly competitive one, thereby providing local producers with an opportunity to sellabroad. The surge in coated steel exports amid limited growth opportunities in the domestic market is bringing thecountry closer to the status of net exporter.
