Turkey prolongs tax incentives for some steel consuming sectors

Turkey’s authorities have decided to prolong tax incentives for some sectors connected with the steel industry for anotherthree months. The measures, despite being helpful last year, might not be as supporting in 2019, sources comment.The government of Turkey has extended the previous tax incentives for another three months (till end-March) to stimulatebusiness activity. Among others, the VAT in housing sector is 8% instead of 18%, the VAT for commercial vehiclesremains at 1%. The special consumption taxes on white goods remain suspended; for motor vehicles with enginesunder 1600 cu cm the 15% figure is still in place, Metal Expert has learnt.
