Turkey’s integrated long steel producer Kardemir has opened the domestic rebarsales, adjusting the price to the lira rate. The demand in the segment remainsweak.Kardemir has started new rebar sales in the local market on May 15 at TRY 3,351/tEXW, which translates to $469/t EXW on the dollar basis, according to the current lira rate. The supplier’s offer has lost TRY 40/t since the previous round announcedlast week, which was closed due to severe currency fluctuations, while in dollarterms it decreased by $2/t. The current revision is attributed mainly to strengtheningof the national currency, Metal Expert understands.
