World steel production largely stable in September

Global crude steel production remained relatively stable in September 2019 at 151.5 million t (–0.3% year-on-year), according to worldsteel. The continued growth in China was offset by declined in steel output in the majority of world’s regions.China increased crude steel output by 2.2% to 82.8 million t in September com- pared to the same period of the previous year, even though local steelmakers were forced to lower production last month due to restrictions ahead of the National Day.
