Two-inch ZnO Wafers Near Volume Production

Tokyo Denpa plans to begin commercial production by the end of this year of 2 inch-diameter wafers made from zinc oxide single crystals that are expected to find use as substrates for gallium nitride light-emitting diodes.It is working on establishing volume-production technology for the ZnO wafers using the hydrothermal synthesis technology that it had accumulated through its manufacture of artificial quartz.It had been shipping samples to user companies in the form of 10 cm by 10 cm wafers and recently began to receive growing inquiries for the product.
