Stoneflies of the genus Zwicknia Muranyi, 2014 (Plecoptera: Capniidae) from western Switzerland

The capniid genus Zwicknia Muranyi was recently proposed to include Capnia bifrons (Newman), requiring reexamination of specimens from western Switzerland, previously determined to be that species. This review, which has resulted in the previous description of a new species, Z. ledoarei Reding et al., has been now completed. Two additional species have been identified, Z. bifrons and Z. westermanni Boumans & Muranyi, the latter one, a new country record for Switzerland. Information on the distribution, ecological preferences, zoogeography and conservation status of these species in western Switzerland is also provided. Finally, a morphological key to adult males and larvae of the three above species is provided.
