COP eyes projects that break even below $50/bbl

The US upstream firm has says it will no longer invest in upstream projects that have a breakeven price of $50/bbl or above, as it aims to improve upstream profitability moving forward. ConocoPhillips (COP) adds that most of its future investments will be focused on its North American shale resources, particularly in the Eagle Ford and Permian basin plays, as the company has lowered breakeven costs in these areas to a level well below $50/bbl.
