According to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), the national average retail price for regular gasoline was $2.489/gal on Oct. 16, a 1.5￠/gal dip from the Oct. 9 price and settling at a seven-week low. Houston, Texas' $2.203/gal was the lowest price for gasoline, while San Francisco, California's $3.145/gal was the highest price. RFG's national average settled at $2.648/gal-a decrease of 2.0￠/gal on the week. The state of Texas and the Gulf Coast region shared the lowest price of $2.202/gal for RFG, while the highest was San Francisco, CA's $3.145/gal.
