Fuel oil imports to China are expected to decline over the coming months as the escalating trade war between China and the US is expected to adversely impact Chinese bunker demand as some commodities shipments from China to the US are curbed. A source with Chimbusco in Beijing said, "Until now, we have not seen demand for container cargoes and dry bulk cargoes shrinking. But once the tariffs are effective, it is likely that demand for container cargoes will drop, leading to less demand for bunker fuel."
