A survey of over 200 North American executives by IFS Industries found a 30% year-on-year increase in the use of Internet of Things(IoT)to support asset performance management at these executives’companies.The use of IoT to collect data on entire work cells,as opposed to individual equipment,also rose 17% on the year,according to the survey.Despite the year-on-year increases in certain applications of IoT,only 16% of respondents reported integrating IoT data streams with their enterprise resource planning(KRP)software.
