NY Attorney General changes tune in XOM climate suit

In a significant reversal,New York Assistant Attorney General Jonathan Zweig dropped one of the signature claims of the US state's securities fraud suit against ExxonMobil Corp.(XOM),stating in his closing remarks that New York was no longer arguing XOM officials knowingly misled investors about the danger of climate change on fossil fuel investments.The state also dropped its claim mat XOM investors bought stock based on false statements issued by the company in regards to the dangers of climate change.
