摘要

Emissions from Germany's transport sector have shown litde improvement over the past ten years, and the declines are not meeting federal targets. The country's Green Party has been challenging Chancellor Angela Merkel's Conservative administration to define a plan for meeting 2030 climate targets.Meanwhile,a number of state transport authorities have begun to do their part to move the transport sector closer to the goals of the Paris Accord.Berlin's city fleet of 1.4K buses is expected to be fully electric by 2030.The city state will pay €61MM($69MM)for 90 battery-powered buses and the charging infrastructure to serve them. The Berlin transport authority expects the vehicles to last as much as 16 hours between charges when the trial phase begins.Berlin has budgeted an additional €48MM($54MM)for a further expansion to over 225 electric buses by 2023.
