Indonesia looking to increase biodiesel use to reduce gasoil imports

The country implemented a B20(80% diesel blended with 20% biodiesel)mandate last Sept.to reduce the amount of diesel it needs to import to meet local demand.Since the B20 mandate was implemented,domestic consumption of palm oil methyl ester climbed to 1.517MM mt(407K b/d)in Feb.,a sharp increase from 992K mt(266K b/d)in Feb.2018,according to data from the Indonesian Palm Oil Association.
