Venezuela's fuel imports dwindle, premium tanker rates further choke deliveries

The US had been Venezuela's top supplier of diluents, gasoline and other light distillates, sending over 150K b/d during Nov.-Jan. but shipments in Feb. plunged to well under 25K b/d after the new sanctions took hold. The rest of the world only supplied around 50K b/d of light distillates to Venezuela during Nov.-Jan. Shipments from non-US suppliers exceeded 75K b/d in Feb., leaving Venezuela's total light distillate imports at less than half of what they had been during the previous three months.
