Offshore service sector spending growth to outpace shale's in 2019

So claims new research from consultancy Rystad Energy,which states that spending in the offshore service sector will grow by 4% this year from 2018 levels while spending in the shale service sector will remain flat.Rystad expects offshore spending to rise due to exploration and greenfield projects,higher operational expenses(OPEX) due to cost inflation,more fields coming online,and a backlog of work that needs completion.Shale spending is forecast to stagnate due to the crude price decline seen in 4Q that led many shale companies to lower 2019 capex.
