Pemex expected to increase fuel price but below expected inflation rate

According to the head of consumer watchdog agency Profeco,Ricardo Sheffield,Mexican state-owned Pemex will sell tegular gasoline and premium gasoline at 18.29 pesos/L($3.66/gal)and 19.73 pesos/L,($3.95/gal),respectively.Diesel will also be sold at 19.48 pesos($1.04 at Jan.14 exchange rates)/L.These fuel prices will be 3% higher than average prices in 2019 and will below the expected inflation rate of 3.5%.Over 2019 and 2020,wholesale prices for regular gasoline premium gasoline,and diesel are expected to rise 2,9%,4.4%,and 0.8%,respectively.
