Canadian firms to boost 2020 output as TMX begins to lay groundwork

Upstream firms in Canada are aiming to boost output next year as pto-duction curtailinents out of Alberta ease on increasing crude-on increasing crude-by-rail(CBR)movements to the US.Canadian Natural Resources Ltd.(CNRL)issued a 2020 production guidance of 1.14-1.21M1VI boe/d,up from the 2019 production guidance of 1.09-1.15MM boe/d.To meet this higher production target,CNRL said it plans to boost its 2020 capex by C$250MM(I190MM)from 2019 levels to C|4.05B($3.07B),with the increased spending aimed at adding 60 drilling locations across Alberta and putting three additional rigs into service in 2020.Husky Energy Inc.set its 2020 production guidance at 295-310K boe/d,up from its 2019 production guidance of 290-305K boe/d.Husky's 2020 capex is expected to be C$3.20-3.40B($2.43-2.58B),with the bulk of this spending earmarked for development of its Lloyd thermal project in Saskatchewan,completing its Liuhua 29-1 natural gas field off of China,and on the construction of its offshore West White Rose oil drilling project in the waters of Newfoundland and Labrador.
