Data from US auto club AAA indicate the national average price for regular-grade gasoline fell by l.O¢/gal over the week ending Oct.23 and was 46.2¢/gal lower on the year.Friday's price of $2.166/gal represents the fourth consecutive week-on-week decline for the grade but was slightly higher than the 17-week low of $2.164/gal that was hit on Tuesday and Wednesday.The national average price for E85(85% ethanol and 15% petroleum-based gasoline) fell for the third week in a row,dropping by 0.6¢/gal from the previous Friday to hit $1.967/gal on Oct.23,and it was 37.0¢/gal lower on the year.The national average diesel price declined for an eighth consecutive week,inching down by 0.5c"/gal over the week to end at $2.377/gal,which was lower on the year by 61.9¢/gal.
