Borealis produces PP using renewable feedstock from Neste

Borealis’s facilities in Beringen and Kallo has begun production of polypropylene(PP)using renewable feedstock,marking the first time the company conducted large-scale commercial PP production without using feedstocks sourced from fossil fuels.The two plants were also recently awarded International Sustainability and Carbon Certification for renewable PP.Finland’s Neste provided the renewable propane,which was produced using its NEXBTL~TM technology,to Borealis’s PDH plants.Both companies aim to shift the industry to a circular plastic economy.
