Indonesia urges companies to buy domestic diesel,stores fuels offshore

After a request from state-owned Pertamina,Indonesia's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources sent a letter to 17 companies asking them to prioritize buying domestic diesel supplies instead of importing in order to ease the impact of the coronavirus(COVID-19).The letter read,”The onset of COVID-19 in Indonesia has resulted in a decline in economic activity including a decrease in domestic diesel oil demand...Your company can immediately be able to negotiate to get a supply of diesel oil from Pertamina...that will benefit both parties.”Pertamina has been reported to have 2.4MM kL(15.1MM bbl)of excess diesel for the remainder of 2020.
