MOL demonstrates successful use of Clariant's SynDane MA catalyst

Hungary's MOL Group use of the catalyst,which is used in fixed-bed tubular reactors to partially oxidize n-butane,has allowed its 22K-mt/y maleic anhydride production plant to boost productivity by 17% last year.The company was also able to report record high maleic anhydride yield.Clariant's SynDane catalyst is said to provide greater efficiency for plants that use water-based backend technology,which was the case for MOL's maleic anhydride plant.
