The German specialty chemicals and catalysts company has unveiled its latest FCC catalyst offering Fourte~TM,which is based on BASF’s new multiple framework topology(MFT)technology.MFT enhances performance through the use of more than one framework topology that work together to tailor the catalyst selectivity profile.By using MFT,Fourte is able to deliver superior selectivity to butylenes while maintaining catalyst activity when processing gasoil feedstocks.Fourte takes advantage of optimized distribution of acid sites,which tempers hydrogen transfer reactions to increase LPG selectivity and butylenes production.Successful evaluations of MFT have confirmed Fourte’s ability to help maximize margins and provide operating flexibility to boost butylenes feed to the alkylation unit.
