GS Caltex upgrades facility at Yeosu refinery to run on LNG

A facility at the 730K-b/d refinery in South Jeolla in South Korea will now run on LNG instead of LSFO,which will reduce carbon emissions by 19% and will save 11.5B won($19.4MM)/y in GHG emissions reduction measures,according to GS Caltex.In addition,the company will now be able to use LSFO to generate revenue as demand for the heavy fuel oil product has surged because of the IMO's sulfur cap.
