摘要

According to consultancy IHS Markit Ltd., Venezuelan oil production has now fallen to 100-200K b/d, with further output reduction expected as US sanctions continue to hinder the ability of the country to export oil, leading domestic storage capacity to fill and forcing output to be halted until these stocks can be drawn down. Output slumped to about 101K b/d in the week ending Aug. 5, according to a report seen by Bloomberg. IHS is warning that it is now within the realm of possibility that the South American nation could soon be producing zero barrels or very close to it. Jim Burkhard, IHS Markit's vice president and head of oil markets, lamented, "Never before has a former major oil producing country seen output fall so low for so long. In Venezuela's case, if there is any surprise it is that the disintegration did not happen faster."
