Japan’s Steel Exports in Oct Fall by 10.4% from Year Earlier to 2,987 t/t

The Ministry of Finance Japan released on 20th Japan’s imports and exports of steel products (preliminary) inOctober 2017. According to it, its export quantity of steel products in October was 2,987 thousand tons (abbreviated as t/t), down 5.7% from the previous month and also down 10.4% from the same month last year for 9 months in a row, whichhad dipped below 3 million tons since July (2,964 t/t). Its export amount in the yen was 679.2 billion, up 15.6% from thesame month last year. While, its import quantity of steel products in October was 646 t/t, up 2.7% ditto and down 5.2%ditto, which continued to be the level of 600 t/t for 3 months in a row.
