U.S. Coal Export in 2018 May Rise above 100 Million Tons

U.S. coal export is going well in 2018. In fact, the coal export volume in the period from January to September in2018 reached 79.048 million tons, up by 16.516 million tons (26.4%) from the year-earlier period. In view of this, unlessthe figure during October to December drops exceptionally, the coal export volume in 2018 is anticipated to cross the 100million tons mark.It is for the first time in 5 years since the year 2013 (Export volume: 107.162 million tons) for U.S. coal export torise above 100 million tons. Incidentally, the coal export volume in 2017 was 87.934 million tons.
