China's Steel Exports in Sep Fall 10.4% Y/Y to 5.33 Mt

The General Administration of China Customs announced earlier this week the country's exports of steel for September 2019. The total monthly exports stood at 5.33 million tonnes (mt), down 10.4% year-on-year (y/y) but up 6.4% month-on-month (m/m). The monthly figure has been somehow managing to stay above 5 mt for five straight months (since May). However, at the current pace, the total exports for 2019 is likely to stay at 67 mt, marking another y/y decrease for the fourth straight year.
