Sempra Energy’s LNG Re-Export to Non-FTA Countries Authorized

The US Department of Energy (DOE) approved a request, submitted from Sempra Energy’s subsidiary, for reexport of LNG from Mexico to non-FTA countries. Sempra Energy is planning to produce LNG at the Costa Azul terminal in Mexico, which is now working as an LNG import terminal, by importing US-produced natural gas. With this approval, the Company has acquired permission to export 636 Bcf/year (about 12.5 mtpa) of LNG.
