Hyundai Steel Y 2019 Operating Profit Declines by 67% to W 331.3 Bil

Hyundai Steel Co., a major steelmaker in South Korea, announced its consolidated financial results in 2019 (January to December) on January 29. They were W 20,512.6 billion, or around Y 1,897.6 billion in sales, down by 1.3% from a year ago (calculated by using W 100= Y 9.25); W 331.3 billion, or around Y 30.6 billion in operating profit, down by 67.7%. Both sales and net profit declined. Net profit drastically declined by 93.7% ditto to W25.6 billion or around Y 2.4 billion. The ratio of operating profit to net sales declines to 1.6%, down by 3.3% ditto.
