John Edwin Balmford

On 1 duly 2017, John Edwin Balmford, aged 86, of Chipping Gampden, Gloucestershire. Mr Balmford registered with the Society in 1953 and left in 2012. Mr Balmford, a proprietor community pharmacist, served on the council of the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (PSGB) between 1963-1969,1970-1988 and 1992-1995. He was designated Fellow of the Pharmaceutical. Society of Great Britain in 1978, and was elected as president of the Society in 1978-1979, having served as vice president in 1977-1978. In 1988, Mr Balmford was awarded the Charter gold medal of the Society. He was founder chairman of the College of Pharmacy Practice, and received the College's Schering award in 1991.
