Regulation reform: General Pharmaceutical Council responds

On 23 January 2018, the Department of Health closed its consultation on reforming the way that health professionals across the UK are regulated1. The consultation asked how we can improve the protection of the public through more efficient, responsive and effective regulation. The Government's proposals have been described by the Professional Standards Authority, the oversight body for the healthcare professional regulators, as a "once in a lifetime opportunity" to better protect patients and support professionals2. But what could the proposals mean for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacies across the UK?
