In March 2019,NHS England announced that the NHS Urgent Medicine Supply Advanced Service(NUMSAS) pilot,in which NHS 111 refers patients requiring urgent access to a medicine to community pharmacy,would be extended for the third time to September 2019.”There have been only 4,000 pharmacy registrations as of March 2019 and we are convinced that this number can be substantially increased,”says Anne Joshua,head of pharmacy integration at NHS England.”NHS England is working in partnership with the community pharmacy sector to maximise the opportunity,particularly for 100-hour pharmacies to take part.”
