MIM conference focuses on malaria elimination

As malaria-endemic countries move closer to eliminating the disease, control and surveillance efforts need to be sustained to prevent a resurgence in malaria cases and deaths. This was the consensus of scientists at the 6th Multilateral Initiative in Malaria (MIM) Pan-African Conference, the largest gathering of malaria experts, held in Durban, South Africa last week (Oct 6-11). The theme of the gathering was "Moving towards malaria elimination: investing in research and control".
