Ice hockey concussion rates: a case for playing by the rules.

Concussion in ice hockey is not a new problem, but it has garnered the attention of the sport governing bodies and was addressed in the two-day Ice Hockey Summit: Focus on Concussion, held in October 2010 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. While concussion certainly is a concern at all levels of the game, there was a keen interest in the student-athlete population at the peewee, bantam, high school, and college levels.
