Complete data were available for 26,021 children from the combined 2011-2012 data set, of whom 1,351 (5.59%) reported food allergy. Of the children with food allergy, 54.8% were white, 17.1% were black/African American, 17.7% were Hispanic/Latino/Spanish, and 10.4% were classified as "other" (see Table El in this article's Online Repository at www. jacionline.org). Food allergy in the sample child was more common in families with a higher level of education and a higher household income, which is in line with previously reported demographic trends.The survey population was equally distributed between sexes and among age groups.
