Retrieval of Fish Hook from Pharynx in a Dog Under Endoscopic Guidance

A six months old, male dog was presented withhe history of accidental ingestion of fish hookwith thread. Lateral radiography of the neckrevealed presence of the fish hook in the pharynx.Video endoscopy revealed barbed tip of fishhook embedded in the mucosa of pharynx nearepiglottis. Using long alligator forceps the fishhook was removed under endoscopic guidanceand the animal recovered uneventful.
