Recurrent Tympany Due to Oesophageal Fibropapilloma in a Bull: A Case Report

A six year old Jersey crossbred bull was presented with the history of recurrent tympany over a period of eight months. On clinical examination mild ruminal tympany with normal vital signs were noticed. Reduced reticular motility was noticed on ultrasonography. Video oesopha-goscopy revealed cauliflower like pedunculated mass in the distal oesophagus. Endoscopic guided biopsy showed massive hyperplasia of squamous epithelium with abundant interlacing bundles of fibrous tissues on histopathology.Animal was treated with anthiomaline and vincristine. After a month of therapy complete clinical recovery and regression in the tumour mass was noticed on endoscopy.
