Mystery ruthenium-106 cloud discovered over Europe

A MYSTERIOUS radioactive cloud of ruthenium-106 was discovered to have spread over Europe in September. Ruthenium-106, which does not exist in nature, was detected in a number of countries including Slovakia, Romania, Poland, Italy and France, in late September, as well as in Tatarstan, Volgograd and the Southern Urals. The levels discovered do not pose a health threat but there is confusion as to where the leak came from.
