HIGH CONCENTRATIONS OF MICROPLASTICS ON SEA FLOOR

摘要

A study in Science has revealed the highest ever concentration of microplastics on the sea floor.10m t of plastic enter the oceans every year but only around 1% floats on the surface.Around 13.5% of marine plastic is estimated to be microplastic,which is less than in size.The remainder is thought to be in the deep ocean but it has been unclear as to exactly where it ends up.
