During times of periodic storm and unpredictable tsunami causing public peril in Palk Bay, textilebarrier (dam) technology can be employed to protect an economically important region betweenIndia and Sri Lanka. Anti-tsunami and storm surge arrestors are a new development applicable toPalk Bay, especially with the construction of the Sethusamudram Ship Channel.
