Aug-Arrival LNG to Japan from Atlantic Ocean Except. US Averages $9s

According to a preliminary trade statistics report released by the Ministry of Finance on 29th, Japan’s LNG imports from the Atlantic Ocean area in August 2020 excepting from the US averaged US$9s per MMBtu. 145,000 mt combined of LNG from Peru were delivered to the Port of Naoetsu and Himeji, both averaging low-$9 per MMBtu. 271,000 mt of LNG were imported from the US in August. A cargo of 71,000 mt of LNG were delivered to the Port of Soma in Fukushima, the site of JAPEX’s LNG import terminal. This was the first import of US LNG to the terminal. The unit cost was low-$8 per MMBtu.
