DOE to Extend Non-FTA Export Authorization Term Through 2050

The Department of Energy of the US (DOE) is considering to extend the term of non-FTA authorization through the end of 2050. After reviewing supply demand balance and impacts of greenhouse gas emissions in the country, DOE concluded there is no longer need for the limitation of 20 years that it is now setting for LNG projects. After approving the extension officially, DOE intends to start to accept applications for changing and extending term from all the LNG projects.
