BHP Considers Selling Metallurgical Coal Assets Owned by BMC

On August 18, BHP Group Limited, Australia made it clear that the Company was considering selling the metallurgical coal assets in the State of QLD, Australia operated by its subsidiary, BHP Mitsui Coal Pty Ltd. (BMC). BHP previously announced its policy to withdraw from the futureless thermal coal business resulting from the enhanced regulation on the greenhouse gas emission on a global scale. However. this is the first time for the said company to indicate the sellout of the metallurgical coal assets as the said company’s core business.
