Anglo American Revises Downward Forecast about Thermal Coal Production for Export

Anglo American plc, U.K. has recently revised downward the forecast about its production volume of exportoriented thermal coal in the year 2020 to 22 million tons (based on its interest holding portion, and the same applies hereinafter). Since the existing forecast production volume of thermal coal was in the range of 24.0 million tons to 24.5 million tons, the numerical number was down by the range of 2.0 million tons to 2.5 million tons. The reason why Anglo American revised downward the forecast production volume of thermal coal is because the Company shut down the thermal coal mines meant for export in South Africa over a period of slightly more than one month from March 26 as a countermeasure against the spread of a new-type corona virus (COVID-19).
