Murray Energy Files under Chapter 11

Murray Energy Corp., a fourth-ranking coal mining company in the U.S. filed under Chapter 11 on October 29 local time. Murray Energy has been rapidly expanding its coal business in the U.S. since the year 2013 by taking over the excellent coal assets in succession in this country. Firstly, Murray Energy took over 5 coal mines in West Virginia and the various facilities belonging to these coal mines as a single package from Consol Energy Inc. in December 2013. The takeover amount was a total of US$3.25 billion.
